Tour Details

A wild and beautiful alpine river, the Sava Bohinjka, together with her twin sister, the Sava Dolinka, forms the longest of Slovenia’s rivers, called the Sava.

Originating from Bohinj Lake, it carves its way through the mountains, creating a steep valley dressed in pristine forests, and offering a variety of class II to class IV rapids (easy to advanced). Come and joins us on this beautiful rafting trip, full of adrenaline. It is not suitable for non-swimmers or kids under the age of 15.

Due to low water levels in the summer, the Sava Bohinjka can only be run in spring months of April and May (and possibly in June if the water conditions allow it).

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about Sava Bohinjka Rafting
What Is The Difference Between Sava Dolinka (Bled Rafting) & Sava Bohinjka Rafting Trips?
The main difference between the two rafting tours that we offer is level of difficulty. The Sava Dolinka (Bled Rafting Tour) is a Grade II River, the most popular tour. It's perfect for everyone, especially families and beginner rafters. You don't need to be able to swim and we can take almost anyone down the river. The Sava Bohinjka is a Grade III-IV River. This is an intermediate grade and does require some levels of fitness and swimming abilities. You must be 13 years old to participate. Sava Bohinjka does not flow year round and is based entirely on river flow.
What is the water temperature?
The rivers we use for rafting are manly fed by snow-melted water, so you can expect low water temperatures. As low as 10 degrees Celsius on the Sava Dolinka River and 14 degrees on Sava Bohinjka River.
Whitewater Classifications? What is Grade II-III or IV?
The classification of white water goes from Class I to Class V. Class I means the easiest and Class V means the hardest rapids for commercial rafting. Bled Rafting on the Sava Dolinka river is classified as grade II-III which means easy to intermediate. Sava Bohinjka River is a bit more demanding with also some Class IV rapids.
I'm travelling alone. Can I still book?
Yes! While we do have a minimum of 2 participants for the tour to depart, more often than not you will be able to join another group. A great way to meet new friends!
How many people fit in a raft?
Our rafts are made for 6-8 people + your guide. So if you are booking the trip alone or just with a couple of friends you will get more team members to raft with you.
