What is canyoning?
Canyoning can be defined basically as a descent of a river system or a gorge using various techniques and methods. Quite often by abseiling or rappelling down waterfalls, sometimes we can jump, and sometimes the canyon forms natural flumes and you can slide down. All of this is thrown together with an ample amount of swimming, walking and climbing.
Different canyons boast different levels of difficulty, as for Canyoning in Bled, there’s something for everyone. From the newbies to even the most experienced canyoner.
Can anyone do it?
Almost anyone can go canyoning, we recommend a basic level of fitness and swimming ability. Canyoning a sport where you can do as little or as much as you want. Some people do it for pure adventure and adrenaline, for others it’s about exploring beautiful places, and getting access to deep gorges that a lot of people don’t get to experience.
What equipment is involved?
The equipment plays a huge role in your overall canyoning experience. It’s important to be warm, but also comfortable!
Therefore, thick wetsuits and durable shoes are the first step. We also wear a harness belt & and a helmet to keep our heads protected.
